Requirements for the Admission of Aspirants into the Marist Brothers’ Formation Processes:

The original and two photocopies of your baptism certificate,
-
The original and two photocopies of your credentials,
-
You must be a practicing Roman Catholic Christian,
-
A letter of recommendation from a Roman Catholic religious reverend Brother or your parish priest.

A hand-written letter of application from the aspirant,
-
Six of your recent passport sized photographs,
-
The aspirant should be between the ages of 18 and 25 years. (NCE and graduate holders may be a little bit older,
-
The aspirant should score not less than 45% average in the National Marist Aspirants’ Admission written Examinations and in the oral interview.

The aspirant should have good health of mind and body.

He should also pass the pre-admission medical and personality tests,
-
He must be present during the Admitted Aspirants Seminar which is usually fixed in the third Friday of September every year,
-
If the aspirant has ever attended any seminary or any other formation house outside that of the Marist Brothers of the Schools, he should get a letter from the Rector or the Master in-charge of his formation. The letter should make it clear why the aspirant left his former place of formation,

The aspirant should obtain five credits in five subjects which must include the English Language and Mathematics,

The only combination of results for an aspirant to be eligible for admission for formation in the Marist Brothers’ Style of life is WAEC and WAEC or NECO and NECO. Nothing else is acceptable.

The aspirant should adhere religiously to all the requirements as they are clearly outlined for him in the prospectus that the Vocation Director should give to him.

He should unfailingly report at the Formation House in Orlu on the 2nd day of October for the commencement of his initial formation.

Any excuse from the aspirant not to be present on the 2nd day of October in Orlu, should be accompanied by a written permission from the Vocation Director.

The aspirant should unfailingly be present and on time on the day fixed for his pre-admission written examinations at Uturu and also on the day allotted to his pre-medical and personality tests.

All those who are not present on the re-opening day, 2nd October, without written permission from the Vocation Director, should consider their admission as cancelled.
